Explosions of color, energetic lines, fluid forms.  This describes the work of Leslie Perlis over the last 30 years.  Collaborating with the client and the architect, she creates cutting edge designs that satisfy the demands of the project as well as her own artistic needs.  Her original style to give the rich heritage of stained glass, a future beyond the design trends of the past in expressing her own personal vision.

When I was 10 years old I received a beaded flower kit for my birthday.  Little did I realize how that fascination with making flowers from glass beads would eventually lead me to the medium that I have come to love as an artist and have chosen as my primary art medium.

I have since come full circle with the beads; now I embellish my fused glass pieces with glass beads i make myself.  My artistic journey in glass started out with traditional stained glass, then I discovered fusing and began to add it to my windows.  now I specialize in contemporary architectural stained glass and fused glass sculptural pieces incorporating metal, wood, and glass beads.

I like to describe my designs as visual expressions of the invisible forces in our lives.  They depict a phenomenon that we all feel and know exists but cannot easily visualize, like the power of color or natural and spiritual energy.  It is my aim to capture the essence of these fleeting moments in nature, like the formation of a wave, the soul of a rainbow, of the manifestation of a thought or a concept.  I communicate my creative opinions through an abstract design style and encourage each individual viewer to form their own personal interpretation.
