Christina Cohn

Christina Navarrete Cohn's art work reflects her response to everyday life.  Through abstract imagery, the artist speaks directly to the viewer about the possibility of an inner-consciousness:  "I try taking in the whole picture, the whole experience, and freezing it in time by extracting my response to that moment."  Each painting brings forward concepts of change and discovery at the site of the human experience.

Clearly a masterful colorist, Cohn layers and blends vibrant color without modesty or hesitation.  The impact is highly dynamic.  She brings together warm and cool colors witin one painting crating a diverse yet cohesive palette.  With a practice rooted in print making and painting, Cohn is both adventurous and inventive in her color combinations.

Christine Navarrete Cohn uses textural depth to create different moods throughout he pieces.  Her artwork is full of life, both artistically and emotionally speaking.  Her artistic success is largely due to the luminous color and expressive quality of her art.
