When man-made materials are distorted by folding, wrinkling, crushing, etc., they take on the unpredictable richness of natural forms, but are still identifyable as machine-made. 
 
 

This transformation and dichotomy is what captures my interest and offers a complex and fascinating subject matter to paint.
